About Rumah Charis
Rumah Charis is a Christian-based, non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Reverend Teo How Ken to provide care and shelter for the elderly through its Home for the Aged. Over the years, its ministry has expanded to include children and young people through its Home for the Children.
For more than 40 years, Rumah Charis has been committed to serving the community by providing spiritual guidance, shelter, education, and meaningful community activities that promote healthy development and well-being.
In 1993, Rumah Charis was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS) as a social welfare organization.
关于恩惠爱老院
恩惠爱老院（Rumah Charis）是一家以基督教信仰为基础的非营利机构，由张胡坤牧师于1988年创办，最初设立老人院，为年长者提供住宿及生活照顾。
多年来，恩惠爱老院的服务范围不断扩大，也包括儿童及青少年，为有需要的孩子提供关怀与照顾。
超过 40年来，恩惠爱老院一直致力于服务社会，为有需要的人士提供属灵引导、住宿、教育，以及有益身心发展的社区活动，帮助他们建立更健康的生活，并提升生活素质。
1993年，恩惠爱老院正式向马来西亚社团注册局（Registrar of Societies Malaysia，简称 ROS）注册，成为一所社会福利机构。
Home for the Aged The Home for the Aged provides shelter, support, and medical care for underprivileged and homeless elderly individuals. Through this ministry, we aim to provide a safe and caring environment where seniors can find a place to call home, live with dignity, and enjoy a better quality of life. Our Objectives
1. **To Provide Shelter and Care** To provide safe accommodation and care for underprivileged and homeless elderly individuals. 2. **To Provide Spiritual Guidance and Counseling** To offer spiritual guidance, emotional support, and counseling services to meet the needs of the elderly. 3. **To Provide Medical Care** To arrange appropriate medical care and support for the health and well-being of our residents. 4. **To Reunite Families** To assist in reuniting elderly residents with their family members and relatives whenever possible. 5. **To Arrange Funeral Services** To make the necessary funeral arrangements for residents who pass away, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect. 恩惠爱老院 恩惠爱老院为贫困及无家可归的长者提供住宿、生活援助和医疗照顾。我们希望通过老人院的服务，为有需要的长者提供一个安全、充满关怀的生活环境，让他们拥有一个可以称之为“家”的地方，安享晚年，并享有更好的生活品质。 我们的服务宗旨 1. 提供住宿与照顾 为贫困及无家可归的长者提供安全的住宿环境和日常生活照顾。 2. 提供属灵关怀与辅导 根据长者的需要，提供属灵引导、情感支持及辅导服务，关心他们的身心灵需要。 3. 提供医疗照顾 为院内长者安排适当的医疗照顾与健康支援，以维护他们的健康与生活品质。 4. 协助长者与家人团聚 在可行的情况下，协助长者与家人及亲属重新建立联系，并安排他们团聚。 5. 安排身后事宜 当院内长者离世时，为他们安排所需的殡葬事宜，让他们在人生最后的阶段仍能得到尊重与妥善的安排。
Home for Children The Home for Children provides care and support for orphans, children from single-parent families,and children from underprivileged or disadvantaged backgrounds. Through a safe, caring, and supportive environment, we aim to help children grow anddevelop in all aspects of life. We provide spiritual guidance, educationalsupport, and counseling to help them build confidence, develop positive values,and prepare for a better future. To Provide Spiritual GuidanceTo guide children in their spiritual growth and help them develop a strongfoundation of Christian faith and values. To Provide Counselling and Emotional SupportTo provide counselling, encouragement, and emotional support for childrenwho have experienced emotional difficulties or personal challenges. To Promote Family ReconciliationTo help restore relationships between children and their parentswhenever possible and appropriate. To Build Good Values and CharacterTo nurture good values, responsibility, integrity, and respect in children so thatthey can grow into responsible citizens and future leaders who contribute positively to society. 儿童之家
儿童之家主要为孤儿、单亲家庭的孩子，以及来自贫困或弱势家庭的儿童提供关怀与照顾。 我们致力于为孩子们营造一个安全、温暖和充满关爱的生活环境，帮助他们在各方面健康成长。我们也提供属灵引导、教育支援及辅导服务，帮助孩子建立自信、培养良好的品格，并为他们的未来做好准备。 我们的服务宗旨 1. 提供安全与关爱的生活环境 为孤儿、贫困儿童、遭受忽略的孩子，以及来自单亲家庭的儿童，提供合适的住宿环境和生活照顾。 2. 提供属灵引导 引导孩子在属灵生命上成长，帮助他们建立稳固的基督教信仰根基，并培养良好的价值观。 3. 支持孩子的教育 协助孩子继续接受教育，并提供所需的支援，鼓励他们努力学习、不断成长。 4. 提供辅导与情感支持 为面对情绪困扰、个人困难或曾经历伤害的孩子提供辅导、鼓励和情感支持，帮助他们重新建立信心。 5. 促进家庭关系和好 在适当及可行的情况下，协助孩子与父母改善关系，促进家庭和好。 6. 培养良好品格与价值观 教导孩子建立正确的价值观，培养责任感、诚信和尊重他人的态度，使他们将来成为对社会有贡献的好公民及未来领袖。
V.S.O.P Club – Very Strong Old People’s Club V.S.O.P Club, which stands for Very Strong Old People’s Club, is a community initiative by Rumah Charis. The club aims to provide a welcoming space where senior citizens from all walks of life can come together to socialise, participate in games and group activities, learn new skills, and build meaningful friendships in a healthy and supportive environment. Our Concept: The 5 E’s The concept of V.S.O.P Club is built around the following five principles: 1. Existence – Affirming Dignity and Self-Worth To affirm the dignity, worth, and importance of senior citizens by encouraging them to participate actively and independently in club activities. 2. Enablement – Promoting a Meaningful Lifestyle To help senior citizens lead a more balanced and meaningful lifestyle by making good use of their time through regular activities and social engagement. 3. Encouragement – Promoting Care and Love To encourage the public to show greater care, love, and respect for senior citizens through organized social activities that promote interaction and mutual understanding. 4. Enlargement – Developing Potential and Abilities To help senior citizens discover and develop their abilities, learn new skills, and continue contributing positively to the community. 5. Equipping – Creating a Place for Learning and Relaxation To develop V.S.O.P Club into a welcoming place where senior citizens can relax, learn new things, participate in meaningful activities, and access appropriate support and professional services. A Place to Connect, Learn, and Grow Through these activities, V.S.O.P Club provides opportunities for senior citizens to enjoy their time in a healthy, active, and sociable environment. Members can meet new people, build friendships, share their experiences and knowledge, and participate in group discussions on topics that interest them. The club also encourages members to express their thoughts, listen to others, and feel valued and respected. By fostering friendship, mutual support, and lifelong learning, V.S.O.P Club aims to strengthen senior citizens’ self-esteem and confidence while helping them remain active and connected to the community. 活力长者俱乐部 V.S.O.P Club 是 Very Strong Old People’s Club 的简称，意思是“活力长者俱乐部”。这是恩惠爱老院（Rumah Charis）推动的一项社区服务计划。 俱乐部旨在为来自不同背景的年长者提供一个温馨、友善的活动空间，让大家聚在一起，参与游戏、交流互动、学习新技能，并在健康、舒适和充满关怀的环境中建立友谊。 我们的理念：五个 E V.S.O.P Club 的服务理念以五个 E 为基础： 1. Existence —— 肯定长者的价值与尊严 肯定每一位长者的价值、尊严和重要性，鼓励他们积极、独立地参与俱乐部的各项活动。 2. Enablement —— 建立有意义的生活 透过定期举办活动和促进社交互动，帮助长者善用时间，建立更充实、有规律和有意义的生活。 3. Encouragement —— 鼓励社会关爱长者 透过有组织的社交活动，鼓励社会大众给予长者更多关怀、爱心与尊重，并促进彼此之间的交流和了解。 4. Enlargement —— 发掘与发展长者的潜能 协助长者发掘和发挥自己的能力，学习新的技能，并继续为社区作出贡献。 5. Equipping —— 打造学习与休闲的空间 致力于将 V.S.O.P Club 建立成为一个温馨的活动空间，让长者能够放松身心、学习新知识、参与有意义的活动，并在有需要时获得适当的支援和专业服务。 一个交流、学习与成长的地方 透过各项活动，V.S.O.P Club 让长者有机会在健康、积极和充满互动的环境中享受生活。 在这里，长者可以认识新朋友、建立友谊、分享人生经验与知识，也可以参与自己感兴趣的课题讨论。 俱乐部鼓励每一位会员勇于表达自己的想法，同时学习聆听和尊重他人，让每个人都感受到被重视、被接纳和被尊重。 透过建立友谊、彼此支持和持续学习，V.S.O.P Club 希望帮助长者提升自信心和自我价值感，让他们继续积极参与社区生活，与社会保持联系。
